Skillswap May: Rapid prototyping with Plone
May 9, 2007 – 6:59 amThe latest in our Skillswap series comes from Andy and Ben from Team Rubber. They have been creating highly creative engagement tools via Delib for years, and are very familiar with understanding clients’ requirements and translating those into virtual reality.
Rapid prototyping is something we are all going to be seeing a lot of in the future as products, wireframes and rigid sign-off processes withdraw and modular, flexible open source platforms which can be easily adapted to a groups’ emergent requirements take the limelight.
Anyway… Here’s some of the info from Andy:
We’ll take a brief from someone in the group to create a simple web app, then we’ll show you how to rapidly stick Plone on your laptop, install some products, and start creatively solving problems. Some bits will be less interesting, so we’ll relieve the monotony with some films: “Does cheese cause racism?”, “Mindjacking: the dangerous new trend”, “Does thinking cause cancer” etc.
Sounds like it’s going to be another corker. Not least because Matt (the Plone pusher) from Netsight has agreed to sponsor the beer.
