No it’s OK – I wasn’t suggesting that anything was afoot, was merely working the idea in a number of directions to see how it came out – and working out all the different tones of voice we have in publishing our own thoughts, and where the boundaries are. I suspect that the same rules apply to freelancers as to full time employees – and that some things just aren’t said in public… will press on with the lessons learnt though!

Now you’re getting me worried…

Re public/private (personas). Some things you project as part of your professional role, some not. For good business reasons. I can’t project all I’d like about my employer, not without terminally hurting some careers, mine included.

But there is things you can: partner / supplier / agent experiences are usually postable and appreciated by third parties within the same space as great reference material and “lessons learned”. Just make sure you use the right terms so as to avoid getting in trouble (we have a policy about that at Macuarium: just don’t use any word in the Civil or Criminal codes unless you’ve already sued).

Another idea. As an independent agent whose values are part of your selling points, you can probably show the way you think and what irks you. I guess .
