NCVO Annual Information conference: plenary session
September 5, 2007 – 1:10 amI will be at The NCVO’s Annual Information conference on Thursday 8 November, giving a plenary session at the beginning of the day. Hurray!
I’m not mad keen on giving presentations, but see them as a chance to crystallise all those ideas knocking around my head and emerging through interactions with my partners, friends and clients. It’s quite like climbing too; you never know quite what’s going to happen and there’s never any going back.
If possible, I would co-present with a client every time (for that authentic feel), but this time I’m going it alone. Here title and blurb:
Knowledge and networks: real engagement and modern organisations
Organisational knowledge begins and ends with people. With so many stakeholders in such a complex environment, what models can we use to provide the best possible environment for it to be relevant, timely and easy to share?
The focus will be on the social models from recent projects which define the technology.
They all have a mixed array of blogs, wikis, forums, RSS, social networking platforms etc. but it’s the purpose, people and context that matter the most, so I’m going to stick to some diagrams from actual projects and discuss how we made those models a reality.

I think that Simon Berry at rural net has done some strong stuff here, and with the carbon community work. Do you know it ?
